Healing the whole person
integrating ancient wisdom and modern psychology
Welcome. My name is Jon Oakes. I'm a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with nearly three decades of experience helping people navigate anxiety, grief, trauma, addiction, life transitions, relationship struggles, and questions of meaning and purpose.
People come to therapy because something is "not right." Sometimes life becomes difficult. Anxiety can steal our peace. Relationships can become distant or conflicted. Grief, trauma, addiction, health problems, or major life transitions can leave us feeling lost. Sometimes the problem isn't a crisis at all—it is simply the quiet realization that life no longer feels meaningful or authentic.
Therapy gives us the opportunity to explore the patterns that keep us stuck, develop practical tools for change, and discover a deeper sense of meaning and purpose.
I believe healing and change are possible because I have seen people at some of the lowest points in their lives, and I have seen their capacity to change, heal, and rebuild.
Not because suffering will disappear, but because I have seen that when people are understood, challenged with compassion, and open to change, they often discover strengths and hope they didn't realize they possessed.
My work combines evidence-based psychology with a holistic understanding of the human person. Rather than seeing you as a diagnosis or a collection of symptoms, I see you as a whole person: an integration of mind, body, feelings, relationships, history, and spirit.
My hope is not simply that you feel better.
My hope is that you become more fully the person you were created to be.
Reaching out for therapy takes courage, and I'm glad you're here. If you're ready to take the next step, I invite you to schedule a first appointment so we can begin working together.
