Welcome to my website. My name is Jon.
I have 28 years of experience in the mental health field. I earned my MA in Counseling Psychology with a specialization in Holistic Studies in 2002 and have been a California Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist since 2009. I have worked with young people and their families for 15 years, as well as with adults in community settings. For the last 13 years, my primary work has been with incarcerated adults.
I returned to college later in life to become a therapist. Before becoming a therapist, I worked as a dishwasher, lift truck driver, small business manager, and as an intern with the United Nations. I have lived and worked overseas and in different parts of the United States.
These experiences have convinced me that people are always more than the labels they carry or the worst things they have experienced. Every person has a story worthy of being heard.
I re-opened my private practice in 2026, where I seek to integrate ancient wisdom, and modern psychology in service of healing the whole person.
My Commitment to You
I believe people are always more than the labels they carry or the worst things they have experienced. Every person deserves to be treated with dignity, compassion, and respect, regardless of their background, identity, beliefs, or life experiences.
I welcome clients of all genders, racial and ethnic backgrounds, sexual orientations, gender identities, ages, socioeconomic backgrounds, and religious or political beliefs. My goal is to create a space where you feel heard, respected, and free to explore the concerns that matter most to you.
I believe trust is built through honesty and openness, and I strive to approach every therapeutic relationship with humility. If I misunderstand something you've shared or make a mistake, I hope you'll tell me so we can work through it together.
I don't believe my role is to tell you how to live your life. My role is to help you better understand yourself so you can make thoughtful, intentional choices that reflect your values and the person you hope to become.
